a)
Cultural Programmes:
Since the thrust of the college is on developing all-round personality
of the students, it encourages a number of cultural programmes.
The Students’ Union organizes these cultural functions which
provide a platform for expressing talents of the students. The students
observe ‘Matri Bhasa Dibas’ (21st February) every year
to pay respect to the martyrs of ‘Bhasa Andolon’ who
sacrificed their lives at different stages of the national liberation
movement of Bangladesh and Indepence day celebration on 15th August.
‘Baishe Sravana’ (Death Anniversary of Rabindranath
Tagore) is also observed with due respect. Non-stop extravaganza
of cultural events is the central attraction of Nabin Baran (Freshers’
Welcome). Cultural programmes also characterize different Farewell
Ceremonies. Annual social in January is a matter of special attraction
for the student. It is enjoyed with great fan fare and enthusiasm.

b)
Cultural Competition: The Students’ Union arranges
cultural competition once a year and the college encourages
the students to participate in it. Tremendous enthusiasm and
large scale participation can be found in music, dance, plays,
debates, elocutions and quiz competitions. |

Debates and Discussions: To widen the mental, intellectual
and academic horizons of the students, debates and discussions
on both academic and contemporary issues are organized by
the Students’ Union. |

d)
College Magazine: The Students’ Union publishes
annually its magazine which is a joint effort of the teachers
and students. The magazine captures important events of the
college life, contemporary social and political problems including
problems that the students as well as teachers are facing
in their academic life. As a reflection of student’s
enthusiasm essays, poems stories etc. published in the magazine.
Some departments are also bringing out departmental Magazines
regularly. |

e)
Extension Activities: The term education implies
training, not just in academics but also in extension activities.
It certainly aims at the development of overall personality
it widens the horizon of the students’ efforts and experience.
The college fully recognizes the fact and hence, encourages
the students to participate in various extension activities.
For example, voluntary blood donation camps are organized
by the Students’ Union in the college premises where
students, teachers and non-teaching staff of the college donate
blood spontaneously. The teachers, students and the non-teaching
staff of the college render social services in all sorts of
natural and national calamities. |
