Forms
prescribed for admission to the 1st Year Classes are distributed
to all candidates declared eligible as per Calcutta University norms.
Immediately after the publication of the results of Higher Secondary
Examination, exact dates of distribution of admission forms and
receipt of filled in applications are notified on the College Notice
Board. Admission of the students in this institution is made strictly
on the basis of merit, availability of seats and fulfillment of
certain formalities. Any canvassing might end up with disqualification
of candidature.
The college offers Degree Course in Arts, Science and Commerce at
both General and Honours levels.
Before filing an Application:
Go through the brochure and make sure that all the eligibility conditions
are fulfilled by you.
Make sure that all the information required are provided and the
formalities to be performed are fulfilled by you. Incomplete applications
re liable to be rejected and no further communication will be entertained
after submission of the application form.
Be extremely careful regarding the selection of subjects. Only one
change in combination subjects is permissible within a month from
the commencement of classes and no such requests will be entertained
afterwards.
Submit
with the Appliction:

A
recent passport sized Photograph.

Mark sheets of the previous examinations passed.

Age proof in the form of admit Card of Madhyamik or equivalent.

Caste Certificate from responsible Government Officers for Scheduled
Caste/Scheduled Tribe/Other Backward Castes to enjoy suitable
reservations.

Transfer Certificate/Character Certificate from the institution
last attended.
-
Registration Certificate for candidates who are already registered
with the Calcutta University.

Migration Certificate for candidates from institutions/boards
outside West Bengal
Attested
photo copies of the above testimonials are required to be submitted.
Originals are to be furnished at the time of admission.
Publication of Merit Lists:
The whole process of admission in the college is computerized and
the merit list of successful candidates are published on the date
as notified in the College Notice Board with details like the name
of the applicant, serial number of the application form and its
receiving, total marks obtained by the applicant in the qualifying
examination,marks obtained in the subject applied for an the ‘Net
Total’.
Lists published for admission are provisional and candidates are
admitted on verification of testimonials. Suppression of facts,
adoption of improper claims or production of fraudulent practices
may lead to cancellation of admission and studentship at nay stage
of study and may be treated as per law of land.
Special information for New Students :

The
exact date of commencement of lectures to new classes will be
announced in the local newspapers. New students are advised
to come a day earlier to the college office to ascertain their
Section, Roll Number and class routine.

Library
Cards are generally issued after the commencement of the Classes.
Fee books are to be produced at the time when such cards are
issued. Loss of cards must always be reported immediately; otherwise
the students concerned will be responsible for books issued
against their cards.

All Applications must be submitted to the office and not to
the individual to whom they are addressed. Full name, Class,
Roll No., Section and local Address must, in all cases, be given
in the application. The order no, of the application should
also be ascertained from the office. No reply is sent to the
residence of applicants. Applications meant to be forwarded
over the signature of the Principal must be submitted in duplicate.

Money Order, insured covers and registered letters are not accepted
on behalf of students by the college.

Cheques are not accepted from students, nor any insured covers
addressed to the College. Payment should always be made in cash
and at the cash counter only and against receipt in the proper
printed form duly stamped with the College seal.

A
student’s I.D. Card with the photo and necessary information
regarding the Student concerned is issued to all students of
the college. Every student must carry it whenever he comes to
College or to any function arranged by the College outside the
college premises. The loss of the I.D. Card must be immediately
reported.

The
FEE BOOK and the Identity Card must be produced on all occasions
when identification is necessary. It is to be produced (along
with receipt, counterfoil etc. as required) when college Annuals,
Maps, Certificates, Admit Cards, mark-sheets, Sports coupons
etc. are distributed by the College. Loss of FEE BOOK and Identity
Card must be immediately reported.

Students are supposed to have studied carefully the Rules of
the College and they re under all circumstances bound by them.
Ignorance of such rules will not be considered a valid excuse.
